Do all Ascolta classes have remote labs?
Many Ascolta classes are now using remote labs, and our instructors are in the process of converting a number of additional courses to remote labs. If you want to know if the class you are enrolling in will have a remote lab, you can call us to find out in advance.
Why remote? What are the advantages for students?
There are many advantages for students in a class with remote labs:
Access 24-hours to the Labs — Students with in-class equipment lose
access to the labs at the end of class each day. With remote labs, students can
dial in during the evenings to practice the techniques they learned earlier in the
day.
Reliability of Equipment — During shipment, it is not uncommon for equipment
to arrive damaged or late, compromising the in-class lab experience. Remote labs
ensure that equipment is reliably available and in good working order for each and
every class.
Real-World Scenario — In many work situations, technical staff do not
have direct access to the equipment they are working on. With tighter security becoming
more common, physical equipment is often located behind locked doors. And with increased
networking, it is no longer necessary for a technician to be onsite for network
management and troubleshooting. Accessing the equipment remotely from the classroom
creates a real-world scenario where the professional performs all diagnostics and
accesses all information via their PC.
Improved Classroom Learning Environment — Many students attending a
