CISCO SECURITY SPECIALIZATIONS ARE IN THE PROCESS OF BEING PHASED OUT.

Cisco Qualified SpecialistAs businesses respond to the heightened need for comprehensive security solutions, they rely more on network security engineers trained and certified in a variety of skills and technology areas.  The expertise you develop when you become one of the Cisco security specialists will add to your skill set and help you expand in your security career path.

The Cisco Firewall, VPN, and IDS specializations focus on the growing need for knowledgeable network professionals who can implement complete network security solutions.  The range of available security specializations enable candidates to validate their expertise in specific focused areas such as securing network access using Cisco IOS® software and Cisco PIX® firewall technologies or configuring virtual private networks (VPN) across shared public networks using Cisco IOS software and Cisco VPN 3000 Series Concentrator technologies.

Candidates for Cisco Firewall, VPN, or IPS Specialist certification are most likely to be actively involved in developing business solutions and designing and delivering multiple levels of security for underlying network architectures.  They may work in IT departments or security departments, or as system integrators or consultants installing Cisco security products.

Candidates who pass the corresponding exams receive a certificate of completion from Cisco and may use the Cisco Firewall Specialist, Cisco VPN Specialist, or Cisco IPS Specialist title on their business cards.  They can enhance their skills and prepare for the required exams via a suite of courses offered by Ascolta.
