The Cisco Access Routing and LAN Switching Specialist designation focuses on the ongoing need for knowledgeable networking professionals who can build, implement, configure, troubleshoot, and support complex campus networks and remote access networks using Cisco Catalyst multilayer switching technologies over high-speed Ethernet and Cisco routers connected in LANs and WANs.  Cisco Access Routing and LAN Switching Specialists can scale IP addresses with advanced Network Address Translation, manage network performance using queuing and compression, configure PPP, PAP, CHAP, and interVLAN routing in a network containing both routers and switches.

Specialization Prerequisite

Valid CCNA or CCDA certification.

Specialization Recertification

Cisco Access Routing and LAN Switching Specialist designations are valid for two years.  To recertify, either pass the current version of the exam, or pass a CCIE written exam.
